The photo above is from our fantastic time in Warsaw, Poland. Our minds were flooded with history on this trip, and Poland was the biggest teacher of them all. This is the State of the Little Insurgent.

“When Warsaw was attacked by German troops in World War II, the Polish children, both boys and girls aged 8 to 16, took it upon themselves to become little soldiers and to help defend the city.”

I spent a while at the foot of this statue, thinking about the depths of war and how we could ever throw children into war. It’s not something for me to fathom as I haven’t grown up in such times, but I hope such things never happen again. It’s incumbent upon us to remember the past and the promises made to prevent such wars from happening again.

Just before Christmas a couple of us teamed up for a portfolio shoot in a local park just north of Melbourne town. We put the shoot together quite quickly following some reliability issues with the original make-up artist. I am quite glad of the team we had for the day, a wonderful model (Lucia) and fantastic make-up artist (Christine). We had lots of laughs and got some nice shots

The New Year brings many exciting possibilities and I’m definitely looking forward to it. There are plans in the works for another shoot soon. Think fantasy and gothic. Out in the country, on the beach. Let’s bring this milkshake to the yard!
